A Clean Bill of Health

Barry had his two-year check up today from his bladder cancer. All tests came back good! He's been feeling so tired lately that I think he had in his head he was sick again! The doctor told him he just needs some more exercise---walk 20 minutes a day and get some blood pumping in his heart! I also think he was looking for a reason to lay down and feel bad for himself---no such luck! Tomorrow he goes to the counselor with this new program for training though the Stimulus package. My tax dollars are finally going to go to something that's good for my family!

We had Easter dinner with all the kids last night over at Larry & Tina's house. What a nice treat for everyone. Dinner was wonderful Roast that Larry cooked outside and we celebrated Evan's birthday a little late (like a month!), but it was great!

I worked on cards most of the weekend and now I'm trying to finish an order up tonight. This is a new card made with SU paper and an older set of stamps that I used to use all the time. It's still perfect for cards!

 

Have you tried the dew drops yet? They've been around for a while, but they still come in handy. I got these gold news before Christmas and they go perfectly with the browns on this card. The plaid ribbon is brown and cream. I found it in my draw never used!!

Well, I'm off to finish up a card. I have lots to post this week since I was busy at creation station all weekend! Hurry back and keep the faith!

Guess Who is Visiting Grandma?

 Ms Madelyn came to visit at 7:15 this morning. It's Good Friday and the school's are closed. Grandma to the rescue! We've crafted, gone to Dollar Tree, had lunch at Mickey D's and even seen Grandpa at Wally World. I found some time to finish up some cards that I had stamped out the images last night, too. Now, guess who really needs a nap!! Grandpa will be home soon and then maybe he can entertain her for a while!

Not one thing new in the Bloom World Class Zoo. Barry has his 2 year check up on Monday and an appointment to find out about getting funded for school on Tuesday. I'm looking forward to the second of the two. I can't control either one, so nothing to do but wait! My oldest, dearest friend Celia is on a cruise with her friend Mary this weekend. I tell you this because they wrote to say hi!! Mary is a SU demo. I hope they have fair weather and a good sail!

Happy Passover

Tonight is the first night of Passover and my house smells wonderful! Too bad we don't have smell-a-vision right now! Wonderful Brisket, nice Chicken Soup, and yummy Chopped Liver. All I have to do is finish setting the table and take a shower. I smell good enough to eat!!

Yesterday was another day-from-hell! We had our taxes done and to add another burden, we have to pay this year! It's the old salt in the wound thing! I really think they should have frozen taxes for people out of work this year. Now that would have really helped so many folks!

Tilda is taking Mom for a picnic lunch for Mother's Day! I wish I had all the images of this darling little girl. I got many in swaps and I'm always looking for more!

My Welcome to the Church cards went over great and I have another order! Maybe I've found my new calling! What ever works!!

Gotta run and finish up dinner and get some craftin' time in today!

It's a pretty sunny day today, just a little cool for April, but nice. We have to go have Barry's test done this afternoon. Lucky us!

I worked on some new cards yesterday and this one is the one I like the best. I used a top notch die from SU, gotten in a swap, and a retired SU set of stamps.

I've Got The Back Door Open

I've heard said that when one door closes another opens, and I don't want to take any chances that I might miss that one big or even small miracle that might happen, so I have the back door open this morning!! You just never know!

I'm trying like crazy to get some cards made to sell on eBay. That seems to be the one thing that's working for me now. I've priced them to sell right away. They are so pretty. Judge for yourself!

 

 I said I was busy! I just love coloring Tilda. They remember me of the clothing book dolls I had as a child. They can be what ever you want them to be. The first one is made using lots of BG scraps of paper. The Hi Mom is from a new set of Mother's Day stamps from Cornish Heritage Farms. I've another verse on the second Tilda card. It was a great set for only 9.99! The second card is made using Making Memories papers. Another chance to use up some of those scraps. I put them on eBay around 5 last night and they were sold by 11! If I could only stay up late and create!

Today I'm trying to finish up the wash and get lots of cards made. So far I've gotten one load done and a half card made. Not a good start, but if I can stay off the computer for a while, good things might happen! Have a great day and hurry back again!

I was just reading an email that Barry got from the Senior Center and this quote was in it. I've been having that kind of day and thought how true it is. I'm am worn out from the worry about jobs, insurance and paying the mortgage! I'll never make enough cards to pay them all, but I keep on plugging away! Can you tell I'm tired today? I'm so tired of all of it, but hopefully help is on the way.

I'm not sure where that help is coming from since I just got a call from the doctor's office to say that Barry's tests on Monday are going to cost me $2200 up front! Needless to say I don't have that type of money. That wall I like to talk about is falling in on me today. I know that the good Lord takes care of us fools, but I think he lost our house number!

On a brighter note, Barry went to a program yesterday through unemployment in our state about free training! It's a new program called Workforce Investment Act (WIA). It appears he could get free training in the .net field of computers. They have all types of training and it's paid for. The program would be weeks not months and they are suppose to help you find a job afterward. Since Barry has been in the programming field for over 40 years, he knows alot of the older stuff, but they would give him the knowledge that is needed for the new jobs.

I do have a few cards to share that I did for a customer. I think they came out just so pretty!

It's good to have friends and family that care about you. My friend Gretchen called last night to check up on me. She always knows when my heart doesn't seem to be into things. Right now I'm just through a down time for me. Most folks who see me only see that I'm a happy-go-lucky person, and for the most part I am. But even those of us who are mostly happy have times when we just can't face the world. Each day it seems a little harder to get out of bed and do something. I've been blessed with so much creative work to do right now and that is a good thing, but it's hard to be creative in an instant! Now I have a new order for cards and I don't have a clue as to what I'm making, but, as always, I'll come up with something!
