It's Tuesday, so it must be Movie Day!

Yes, we went to the $ movie again. I can't help it. When it's .50 it's a nice place to spend some time. We saw Wallie. I'm so glad I only spent a small amount on that movie.

Barry has an interview tomorrow with Wal Mart. At least they are hiring. It's a big come down for him, but even he understands he has to do SOMETHING! He also had a call about another job that some headhunter is looking into. I have faith today, but not so much yesterday. It was one of those down days. I think we all have them once in a while and yesterday was it for me. I feel some what better today, so we'll see how the rest of the week goes!

 

In person this card is so pretty. Even the ribbon is shinning with glittery threads. I found it at M's for 1.99 on sale a few weeks ago and now I'm going to need more! The whole card except for the ribbon is SU.

Well, thanks for dropping me a comment or two and all the emails I got today. I'm not the best person about keeping in touch myself, so I'm so grateful that you made the effort!!

Oh Goody, Another Monday!

I look forward to those Monday Nights when Barry is off to the Lion's Club meeting. I don't have to cook or clean up. Heck, I don't even have to eat! Or I can eat junk food if I want. When the kids were home if was the night of "anything goes"! I think Little Debbie's are the order of the day.

It's cool and rainy in Dallas today. Winter will be here before you know it. Our winter's are milder then most, but it still gets cold. I'm walking around with a sweatshirt and a sweater on today. I can't seem to get warm. My bed must be calling me! I was able to get some cards made in the last few days. I need to make more, but I find it hard to settle down and get THAT much stamping done at any given time. Oh well, I'm sure I will get them all done. After all, I just bought a box of 250 envelopes...so I gotta stamp!

   

Gingerbread boys are so fun to make! I've had this stamp in my holiday stash for awhile, and dug it out. I love the way this card turned out. The green paper is from last year's SU papers.

I did order some new stamps from The Cat's Pajama's last night. I had a reward gift certificate to use. I ordered a Gingerbread Train, Santa's clothes hanging on a line, and several verse's. Can't wait for new rubber!!

Are We There Yet?

If you have children, how many times have you heard this said? Heck, I say it to Barry when he's driving me to a craft store---we just can't wait until to know how a story ends! I wish I had an ending to the job story for Barry, but sadly, I don't. He's still looking, but nothing is looking back. Everyday we have friends who join the ranks of the unemployed. It's so sad to see these "more" then grown men and women have to deciede how they are going to make a living. Barry went for a job interview yesterday at the Mall for a holiday job and was joined by several other out of work professionals trying to be first in line. The pay is good, but the hours are only part-time and we don't even know if he'll be offered that.

My own card making is a little slow this holiday season. I usually look forward to getting out all the old stuff and then seeing all the new papers and other holiday goodies that are so wonderful at this time of the year, but not this year. I'm really trying to use up alot of the papers I have in my stash and only add small amounts that will make what I have better. I did sell a bunch of cards this week on ebay and I'm so happy for that. I have a few hours to myself this morning because Barry is working at the Lion's Club project of the week. It's White Cane Day. They stand out in traffic and ask people to donate to them for projects. It works for me!!

   

Isn't this the cutest card???? It's hard to see but the snowflake punch was one of the presents I got for my birthday from my friend and her hubby. I found the Penguins at M's. Four to a pack. I just pop him over the stamped image one and I was good to go!

Speaking of going, I am off to do something besides play on the computer this morning. Have a great weekend!

It's A New Beginning For Our Country

If It's Tuesday, This Must Be Election Day

We already voted, have you? Because of the larger then life turn out in our area, we voted in early voting. It was still a very long wait, but well worth it. I can never say that I didn't have a say in our government and that is the most important thing we should take away for this election or any election. We should always vote! I was up early this morning watching the TV and reliving all the things that lead up to this moment in our history. I'm sure glad to be an American today.

Ms Sophie Moose is always up on her toes! I don't think I've met a Moose that I don't love to stamp from Hanna Stamps!

Thanks for all the well wishes for Barry's birthday. Today is the day. He's much closer to being as old as his Dad, and much older then me! Tina called and invited us to have dinner with them tonight, so we'll get the see Madelyn. We saw her on Friday, all dressed up as a Princess. Don't know what happened to the Pirate Girl she was suppose to be, but she did share her candy with Grandma. Just what I needed!

I'm so happy that my card sales seem to have picked up in the last week. I was getting worried about that. I know it's hard out in the world these days and you have to cut back somewhere. I've been trying to make cards from lots of scraps to save on some of the costs of creating and I think that helps me out. Don't get me wrong, I'm still a slave to new products...just taking it a little slower this year. After all, a new SU catalog comes out in January!!

I'm off to make something to eat for Birthday Boy. Least I can do for him today! Then I plan to stamp a little before we head over to Larry & Tina's house. Have a wonderful day and don't forget to VOTE on Tuesday!!

It's Saturday!

 

You know even if you're busy making holiday cards, sometimes you need a break. Stamping with any Riley will help you get back in the swing of things. I love doing the Riley Fishing Guy because he has so much that you can color in. Half the fun of stamping is coloring the images. I'm pretty sure the little verse is Hero Arts. I have so many of these tiny stamps. I can't help myself, but I want to collect them all! The plaid paper was from a piece in my stash. Even the orangey card stock was found in my stash.

We have no plans for today except to do a little food shopping and work on cards. I'm busy making Gingerbread Guy cards. I'm almost finished with the 8 I started yesterday. I just have to add some "extras" on the front of the card. You know, the fun part!!

Tomorrow is Barry's birthday. Don't tell anyone, but he's going to be old, again! No plans for that either. Evan is out of town at a football weekend and Larry is always busy with his own family. Maybe I'll treat him to a $ movie!
