A Little Fall, Y'all

Does this little guy make you feel cooler? He's from a new set of Fall stamps from Lizzie Anne. I even used some of the newest colors from SU for this card. Notice the Orange and blue? New colors! I tried to match up some copic makers and I think it worked out pretty well. Basic Grey papers and prima flowers.

Of course there is nothing new in the job search for Barry or else I would be saying it so loud you would hear me without the computer, but he's still hanging in there. Yesterday we spent a few hours swimming in Evan's apartment pool and that seemed to take the edge off things for a mintue or two. Maybe today...

We had rain this morning! What a pretty site that was. It's going to be partly cloudy again today and hopefully that will keep the heat down some. It really helped yesterday. It was almost "nice"! We don't have much planned for today. A trip to the post office is a highlight these days for me. Oh well, I could be "stuck" in the house all day with Barry!

I want to say thanks to everyone for their group hug. It really helped knowing there are friends out their who care. I had one person say she didn't know me, except from my blog, and that really made me think that most of us who have become friends won't have "known" each other if we didn't have blogs. I for one, know I would have missed out on knowing some wonderful women. It's good to celebrate with them, cry with them and just enjoy what they have to give to the world. I thank them all! Please keep sharing. I love you all!

Just One Of Those Days

Maybe because it's Monday, maybe because I have some time to myself tonight that I was feeling a downer coming on. I just wanted to cry tonight. If I got my period anymore I'd say it was "that" time of the month, but since I don't I just say it was one of those days. I think I'm just feeling sorry for myself tonight. Maybe I need a group hug or something like that. It could help! Barry is still out of work. There doesn't seem to be alot of jobs in the IT department right now in Dallas. He's gotten a few for travel jobs, but with his bag problems I know he won't take one of those, so we wait and wait some more. He did apply for a IRS job. They are hiring in Dallas, but who knows about the government! My youngest son Evan came over tonight to drop his key off---the one he gave us---but had to borrow back. He's off to Cancun tomorrow for his good friends second wedding. We get to take care of the fish tank! Also we like to use the pool but since Barry needs to have a bathroom around every hour or so, we need to be able to go to his apartment. It helps to have the key! He's one of the reasons I thought a good cry might be in order. He works an investment firm and handles our funds. I emailed him last Thursday to sell somethings so we would have an income for August. He didn't see the email and now it's another week before we get a check! Just a small thing but it seems like the mountain just gets higher and higher.

It's still very hot in Dallas. It was suppose to be about 105 today! To warm to even be out. I made a few cards but didn't take any pictures yet. I was busy taking pictures of Barry's collection of bar glasses and sports glasses. He wants to sell them and we needed to have pictures for ebay. There was some like his on ebay, but nothing is selling right now either. I had 7 cards on tonight and only 3 sold and not for top dollar or anything like that. I ask you, do people really need to spend money on food when they could buy my cards?!~!~

I'm not sure if I showed you this card before, so I'll show it again. I really like this one and think it might be worth looking at again! Ok, so maybe I'm the only one who thinks so---so don't look if you don't want!

FREE AT LAST OR AT LEAST THREE HOURS---

which ever comes first! Barry left nice and early to attend a Lion's Cabinet meeting. It's suppose to last until around noon, so I have to type fast in order to make the most of my free time! Yesterday we had such a fun day. Sometimes when times are tough you forget you still need to have time spent together just enjoying the day. That's what we did yesterday afternoon. We took a nice drive up to Oklahoma to the Indian casino. Of course we had to stop on the way in McKinney. If you get near there, please stop by at Scrappinbunnies! Emily, the owner is the nicest person in the world and we need to support our local scrapbook stores! She's just come back from CHA and has lots of new things rolling into her store! I got a few sheets of new paper. I'll share another time! At the casino Barry gave me $1 to play. Big sport, but hey a dollar is a dollar. I played the penny machine. I love those things. I turned my one little dollar into TEN! Not a bad return on our money!! Barry however managed to lose 3. Then we got to see a free Indian show and got free wind catchers. A nice day for a few bucks!

I was up early yesterday and made this card. I used some MME Garden Party paper and Verve flower stamps. In addition I used SU for the little verse. I wanted to work some ribbon in on the card and found the red plaid worked the best. Enjoy and have a wonderful weekend!

Gee, It's Friday Again!

WOW! The week has just flown by. I'm sure that might be true for some of you, but every week that Barry's home just drags by, no flying for the Bloom's these days. I can't believe another week is ending and nothing in the job market. We know there isn't much out there right now, otherwise the phone would be ringing and he'd be getting emails. Right now the only emails he getting are for jobs out of town. That just doesn't work for him anymore. Money wise, we'll be ok for a while, but mental wise, that's a whole different story. At least he's working on getting the garage cleaned out his time. I don't want to say Barry is lazy, I just think he's worn down a bit!

I haven't been in my studio much this week. I think it's the time of year when we all might need breaks. You know, the in between season. Not Spring, but not Fall things yet. I do have a few new sets for Fall, but it's just too hot to play with them yet. Barry has a meeting tomorrow morning, so I'm looking forward to a few hours of "my time" time to play. He's even got a meeting Monday night. Sounds like heaven to me!

As the card says, delight in life. I try to find joy everyday. Sometimes it's just getting emails from friends. This morning I opened an email from my friend Deb letting me know how she's feeling. I'm so glad to hear she's having a better day today. Her darling hubby and his friend put her new spa tub in and it really helps her feel human again. To me, hearing friends are ok, is joy! My children are well and doing good and even though BB is home right now, his health is good, so I know that all will be right in my world soon! Enjoy your weekend and hurry back!

The InLaws Are Coming!

Oh Lord, it's only two months away. I guess I better start cleaning soon! My dearest son Evan gave my in laws Advantage tickets for their trip to visit us this year as a gift for my FIL's 90th birthday! Isn't he a sweetie! So they are coming September 22 and staying until October 3. We really look forward to them coming to visit. My MIL will be celebrating her 85 birthday during her visit and we'll have a nice little party for them both while they are in Dallas. The big question is---where am I going to put everything!!! I clean out my studio and we rent beds for them. We move alot of my crafting things out to the living room and dining room. Many a deadline project has been done like, with Annette looking over my shoulder.

Barry is still not working, but he had another company show interest in him today. He sent off his resume and now we wait with everything including our toes, crossed! I just know something will happen soon. It MUST!

I can't get enough of this pirate. He's so cute! This is also the inside of the card. I'm trying very hard to dress up the inside as well. The stamps from the inside are from SU. I could never get rid of that set!!

I gotta go and finish the wash and maybe empty the dishwasher. I made extra Chicken last night so all I have to do is cut it up for Chicken Salad tonight. We're also having Honey Dew. You never know if you'll get a sweet one or not, so here's hoping. Maybe I'll get to play with some new stamps that came as well. I got fall and Christmas in the mail today. It's 103, so it's time to make holiday stuff!!

ChristMOOSE In July

My darling little Riley Moose is getting ready for Christmas! It's 102 in Dallas today, so anything that even sounds cold is a good thing!! I saw this layout this past week or so and finally got around to try my own version out. I dug out some Bo Bunny paper from last year and a piece of nice red check and put the card together. I wanted the Moose to stand out so I used a nice Navy color. Notice the ribbon---it came from a Dollar Tree find and those snowflakes from last year as well. I like to stock up on holiday goodies at the end of the season.

Not much new in the Bloom house. We had a nice weekend and last night the kids came over for dinner. I was so glad to have Fred & Gretchen join us. I feel like they are just part of the family. We really enjoy seeing them. Gretchen bought goodies with her---the newest cardstock from SU! Now to play!

I didn't get either DT that I applied for but as they say, when one door closes another opens and so it has.  Check out this website. It's called Pink Poison. Marie is new on the stamp seen, but a wonderful artist and I'm going to be doing some samples for her in the next couple of weeks. I love working with new companies and her stamps look great!

Grandma's Pride & Joy

 

This is a picture of my Granddaughter Madelyn that was taken for her 5th birthday in May. Isn't she a beauty! And oh what a mouth they have at five! She's off to kindergarten in a month. Boy has the time flown by. It does really seem like yesterday her Daddy was going to kindergarten. It's a good thing I've stayed so young! I get to see this darling along with the rest of the gang for dinner. I do have to get a move on making the meatballs. I'm making something we call Nanny's Meatballs. My MIL made them and no matter how we change up the recipe, it's always Nanny's Meatballs!

Saturday Ramblings

Oh yea, I've finally made it to Saturday and boy has it been a long week. Barry still has no job and two of the companies who were looking said NO. Wonderful News!! We are still having issues with the bag staying on. An on going thing, and today I heard I didn't get the design team position I applied for. Oh baby this just keeps getting better and better!

We are having the kids and our good friends over for dinner tomorrow night. That just means I get to go to the store to shop for over prices food. Lucky me! Yesterday we went to the Korean market for fruits and veggies and they were even high. Since Bush thinks the economy is sound and all of the good stuff, we're thinking of moving in with him!! That should fix our problems or maybe create a whole lot more!!!

Oh, I forgot another thing, just in case any one is left reading this mess, I pissed off a good customer of mine yesterday as well. We had a complete misunderstanding. I didn't understand what she said so I anwered her with what I thought she meant---Wrong again! See, it's not my week!

Wish I Was Packing A Suitcase!

CHA is just around the corner and I wish I was getting ready to go. WOW would that be great. How fun would that be to meet up with all the folks I know on line. Well, maybe if I win the Lotto this weekend I could go to Chicago or maybe Maui---boy I have to think on that one! Until I win I guess I better just keep stamping! Not much is new in the Bloom Zoo. Barry heard from a company yesterday that one of the places they sent his resume to is suppose to make some sort of decision today. We don't know if that's for interviewing or hiring. I sure hope it's for hiring, but right now I'll take an interview for him. Today we took some books to Half Price and only got $2! Times are tough all over. When we went to do a little food shopping you could really see how much the prices have jumped up in the last several weeks. If this isn't a depression, it's depressing!

Just a quick card I made last week from some more of those fine looking My Mind's Eye papers. There is one small piece of SU paper I found just laying on the desk. It even had a tear in it, but it was the other color I was looking for, so on the card it went! The fence is from a.99 sticker package I found in the "stash" and it again worked pretty darn good. I do love working with these darling little images.
