Friday Already!

This week has just flown by and now it's finally the weekend. We don't have too much planned. Barry is or isn't working tonight. Too early to tell. Tomorrow is about the same except he has a Lion's Club meeting the first part of the day. Sunday night we are suppose to get together with our friends Gretchen and Fred for dinner. Gretchen also has my new stuff from SU and I can't wait to play with it. I've gotten a few cards made this week due to my self impossed ban from blog reading all day. Boy oh boy is that easy to do. I think that this happens to lots of us and then all of a sudden, the day has passed us by! Well, not me today. It's suppose to be near 90 this afternoon and I'm hoping to have lunch with my son Evan today and that always makes a good day. After that maybe get some food for the weekend and do a little work. I have a few cards that I've made this week and a few more on the table to finish.

Birthday Presents

NO, it's not my birthday,again--I just had to share a new card that I made from an SU set called Birthday Whimsey. I looked and looked, and looked some more at the gallery over at SCS. I finally found something that caught my eye. This is my version of Teneale's card. Don't you just love it!! It's so fun. Enjoy both cards and come back soon!

Easter Basket

Just a quick note to share a darling little basket I made yesterday using some new Kitchen Sink Stamps called Playful Ovals. They have so many possibilities! I found this tiny little Easter basket on a really neat blog called Paper Smiles. Please check her blog out. Anyway, I fell in love with this tiny little thing and created my own Spring paper using a tiny oval stamp from Kitchen Sink and for the handle I used another of the small flower stamps included with this set. I can't wait to make some more of these for Madelyn's Easter treats for her classmates! The card was made using another of the ovals. It's one of my favorite pieces with this set. I stamped the "flowers" in Pink In Pink and then gave it some color dots with other markers. The grass just filled in the bottom of the card. It's another of the 3-step stamps in the Bunny set from Kitchen Sink. Please enjoy these little treats and have a good day!

Trash Day Mondays!

If it's Monday, it must be trash day! And guess what I made it in time today! I've got the dirty clothes now clean and two cards made and now I'm off to do some errands. I don't have much to share today because I think my brain is on overload. This seems to happen to so many people that create all the time. Not a day goes by that I'm not in my studio. I should have a day to clean it, but that's not going to happen anytime soon, so instead I think I'll be taking a break for a few days of blogging and see if I can really get anything done. I have DT work to do and because I sell so darn many cards to feed my new paper habits, I think I just need a break. So there is today's card and please come back in a few days to visit again. Maybe you can get off from blog surfing and get some work done too!! Have a good day and stay nice and warm and dry! I hope you have all blessed with the most important thing in life---LOVE!

   

DON'T FORGET TO SPRING FORWARD

This right, tonight is the night to set those clocks up an hour before you go to bed and then we'll lose an hour of sleep. But just think how nice it will be in the evening when it's light later!                                                

Just a pretty little card to share today. Some American Crafts paper that I got a while ago and that well used stamp set from SU called Priceless. The little tag is stamped with a Hero Arts stamp about friendship.

Snow Time Again

Yes, it's snowing again in Texas! We had such a pretty day yesterday and now huge fat flakes of snow are coming down!! That's Texas weather for you! I just wanted to share a few cards with you today that I made and hope you enjoy them!

Isn't she sweet! I'm so happy to have these images from a swap. The paper is from DCVW, Basic Grey and some notebook paper! It's hard to see in the photo, but her flowers are very glittery!

Can you see that I still have some of the My Mind's Eye paper left on my desk? It has some of my favorite spring colors in it.

I don't have another picture to share today, so I guess it's good bye for another day! Please hurry back to see what else I've done or just to say HI! I love hearing from you.

To Infinity & Beyond

For some reason this stamp always reminds me of the Buzz Lightyear Movie and his classy saying! While blog surfing I found some wonderful cards made using the SU rocket ship and since I didn't have that stamp I used what I had. I love the AMuse rocket stamps and matching verse. I saw a layout similar to this and I must say I'm in love with this cute card! I used the Jersey Shore paper and punched out some circles to complete the picture. The stars are punched and layered just to give it an extra punch! You can't tell, but I added some liquid applicate to the "window" for a bubble look.

Yesterday was so different then the day before. The sun came out and the snow melted off. It became down right nice in the afternoon. We went to vote last night and I was wowed over with the amount of people that turned out. We waited in line for over an hour to vote and there was plenty of folks still there when we left. We have voted in TX for 25 years and I've never seen a turn out like this one! We met a man who we knew from 4 years ago and we were all shocked at the turn out. We all wondered where these folks were last time around. The Democratic Party might have changed things in the White House four years ago if they had showed up! I'm proud to say my children did their duty last night as well. They voted differently then their parents, but they voted and I'm very proud of that!

Well, I guess I better move along or else I'll have people writing me to say they don't like what I have to say even though this is MY blog and I don't remember holding anybody down and forcing them to read my own thoughts. Lately it does seem as if you don't like what someone writes, people feel free to be mean to the writer! What sense does that make? Just don't read the blog. After all, I pay each month from my own pocket to do this and I try and stay nice, upbeat, and share my work with friends and family. So the moral of this story folks is---play nice!!

Spring, Snow, Spring again!

They say in Texas "if you don't like the weather, wait a minute"! How true is that! It was Spring on Sunday and then it turned cold and wet yesterday and last night we had snow! Check out Madelyn and her Dad last night. They woke her up so she could see the snow! Don't they both look happy? We don't get much snow down here in Dallas and we have to enjoy the moments! Now it's sunny and all the snow has melted away. Barry said it was icy on the roads when he went to work at 6 AM.

In honor of Spring being just around the corner and because I got my new stamps from Kitchen Sink I made this card last night! I love how it turned out! The bunny was made using a 3-step process of stamping. Easy as can be to do. Check them out! I didn't want anything to take away from the image so I just used my CB Pin Dot folder for the back round and a few Prima Flowers to finish it off. This bunny is going to go to Madelyn for Easter. It's so "girlie"!

Well, now that the sun is shinning I really must get something done. I was up at 4 with Barry. The bag he wears sprung a leak and guess who needed to be there. It's more then a year since I became the "care giver" and sometimes, like this morning, it really gets to me that this is what life has become. I know I should be grateful that I have him to care for, but when does he take care of himself?

Isn't she special looking? Thanks to some wonderful friends I was able to swap for some new images of the Magnolia stamps. They remind me of that old saying sugar and spice and everything nice! I colored this cutie with my Copic markers and then added a bit of glitter to her wings and water in her pail. She's cut out and popped up on foam.

I hope all my friends had a wonderful weekend. I know we didn't do much, and it went way too fast. I can't believe it's Monday already. Tomorrow we vote in our states elections. I always feel it's such an honor to be able to vote. I remember the first time I voted for a President. It was McGovern. It was back in the day you had to be 21 to vote and I thought I was so grown up to vote! My parents were very active and one of those fond memories I had as a very small child was walking to the school so my mom and our neighbor could vote for Stevenson! It was Margie's first time to vote. She came over after WWII as a war bride from England and had just become a citizen and it was her first time to vote! People didn't have two cars then, I guess because most Mom's were stay-at-home Moms then. Remember it was in the 50's! I must be remembering my age today. Yes, it's wet and damp in Dallas today and it makes everything hurt, so I'm really feeling my age today!

Enough of the fond memories, I have work to do. Kitchen Sink Stamps has a new release today, so check them out. I have to still make a pretty or two with my new sets and I'll try and get something up tomorrow for you to see, so hurry back!

Just Kickin Back

And getting nothing done! Isn't that how the weekend usually starts. I try and let Barry slept as long as he wants on the weekend and today is th same as usual. I got my new Kitchen Sink stamps yesterday that will be the new release on Monday, so stay turned as I try to make something this weekend. Other then that, I really don't have plans. I did make several cards that I can share, if you want to see them. I guess you do or you won't have come for a look-see! Cute and bright! Just the way I like my cards. I swear I try soft and simple, but it just doesn't seem to work as well for me. I always feel something is missing from the finished look.

This is I just love! I've seen lots of cards done with this theme in mind and thought I'd try one too. I used my new CB folder on the top and then stamped and paper pieced the rest. I even punched a polka dot circle for the little hanging verse! Wouldn't this cheer up anyone's birthday!

All the paper and stamps are from SU for both cards. They are call colored by Copic markers. I think it has the richest look to the colors.
