Love Blooms In Me

GOOD DAY, SUNSHINE

Oh yea, it's 8 AM and the sun is shinning! Does that mean it's going to be a good day? Oh gosh, I hope so. I want the phone to ring and Barry have an offer of a job or at least another interview for one. We're still waiting on the results of the last interview. I think Barry is really starting to get down about the job situation right now. Oh gee, it's about time. My stomach has been in knots for some time. There just doesn't seem to be any jobs in the market right now. I think companies are holding off spending money and of course that effects us. Oh well, I know something will come along soon. Yea, that's what I've been saying for a month now, but what else am I to do!

Yesterday was a nice lazy day at our house. I did manage to work on some more of the swap cards I need to do. I now have 4 1/2 made. All the images are done and just need to be mounted. I'm using some new paper called Spring Fling from SU and the thing I hate the most is that I'm using up 3 full sheets of this pretty paper. Do you like how the card turned out? I added lots of glitter to the hearts and the outside of the flower. I had to use only SU for this project and because I didn't have enough buttons or brads that would match in my SU stash, I went without, but it's really a pretty card. I used my dubber to "color" in the sky. It really looks good in person.

Tonight Barry has a Lion's meeting and I get some "me" time. I am trying to clean up a little bit at a time in my studio. It's still littered with Christmas stuff and I've been trying to put it away, but you know what happens everytime, I find something else that needs to be played with! The only thing I really NEED to do is find some more room on my desk to work. I'm down to about 6" on my really LARGE Ikea desk. I guess that will have to be moved to the top of the list!

Good Morning Sunshine

Maybe I should have said "baby it's cold outside" instead, but both would be true this morning. It's 32 outside right now in Lewisville, TX, but the sun is shining so it's going to be a good day. As soon as it warms up outside, I'll go get the Sunday paper. Right now it's a little cold for that! I was finally able to stamp a little yesterday. OK, very little, but I did get one card made using my new SU set called Happy Heart Day. I love the Ellie with this set. I can see her in all colors! I did manage to stamp out eight more of these images and color them in for a swap I'm in with the Dirty Girl Alumni over at SCS. This card is made using the Cutie Pie paper. I'm going to have to order more I can see. This was the last of the polka dot pieces and I'm going to "have" to have more! I added a little interest with the corner punches by SU as well. They just seem to finish up a project with the right amount of "stuff"!

Today we don't have much going on. I guess it'll be a nice lazy day at our house. I do have to package up some cards I sold this weekend. I know it's slow out there in buying land, but I hope that the market for a beautiful handmade card doesn't dry up. How else can I get the extra money I need to PLAY with new things all the time?????

NEW BASIC GREY

Oh my gosh it finally came to my house today! The line called TWO SCOOPS! I bought the small 6x6 pads and some brads and buttons. Makes me want to eat ice cream. OK, so anything can make me think I NEED to eat ice cream. Back to the subject at hand. I enjoy looking at other's people work as much as the next person, but there is one crafter on SCS that I have fallen in love with her work. Her name is Pam and she is known as 4Hounds over their. I think I have everyone of her cards in my Favorite File! Today I was looking over this growing file and saw her card. Check it out and see what you think! I have copied, cased, or lifted it to use in my own version with my new paper today. Bless you Pam for all your wonderful idea's and I'll try and limit my use of them...OK, I said try! This is my humble card!

The paper is BG and the stamps are from SU Priceless and True Friend. My bow will never look like hers, but I tried. I found these brads in my stash from Making Memories. Cute little buttons.

Not much else going on in the Bloom Zoo. Barry is still applying for jobs and people are still calling, but nothing yet. I made him go to a meeting tonight. He didn't think he wanted to, but I almost pushed him out the door. I think he knew I'd reach my limit of "together" time! So what am I going to do tonight...nothing much. Maybe watch TV, play with some more of my new paper or just take a nap all by myself. Barry did ask what I was having for dinner. It always shocks him when I say nothing! I lied. I had a cup of Hazelnut Coffee and a Little Debbie Brownie! What a great dinner! There even may be a bit of candy around the house to eat for dessert!!

When Old Is New

I love to play around with forgotten stamp sets and this is one from last year made by Stampin UP! It came out last year with all the Doodle craze that was so new. You can never have enough old friends! I dug the paper out from my stash and thought it would be a fun combination to make this card. The paper is from My Mind's Eye. Since the card is made on a cream base I wanted my red and white ribbon to match and all I did was run a Copic cream marker over the top of the ribbon to give it an "aged" look. It's hard to tell but there is a small gem in the center of the flower. Hope you enjoy this card as much as I did making it!

Don't know what's up with us today. Barry is still sleeping. It's only 8 AM right now. I'm off to work on some cards. I need to restock the selling baskets I try and keep. I'm waiting for some new stamps that are coming from Kitchen Sink Stamps this week. I can't wait to make some cards and show them off. Nothin' Much Doin'

Hey Callie Ann and anyone else who is reading my blog---ONCE and for the LAST time---the reason I have the header spelled the way it is, is because I want my LAST name which is BLOOM to appear all by it self! While I understand you don't like the way it looks, please email me instead of in a public comment or at least leave your email address! ENOUGH SAID!

Please take a minute to note the widget that I've added to my blog. I'm sure you know that Barry has been touched by Bladder Cancer this year as well as my BIL and I thought we should try and do something to help "stamp" this out! Bladder Cancer doesn't get alot of research money, but it does seem to run in family's and Barry's is one of those. He's had cousins and Uncles and well as his Dad who have been touched by Bladder Cancer and we'd like to help. So please help us out with a small donation! It will all go to Cancer Research in February! Thanks in advance.

I'm going to leave this note at the top of my blog for the next month, so please just take a moment to read it and then you can jump right down to something new.

OK, so all those people who hate my spelling and grammar can now bitch some more about my title today! I hope I make them all so happy! You know I'm on a design team and yesterday and today the theme seems to be about manners or lack of "blog" manners. People say the strangest things when they write you or leave comments. Even if they don't know you! People wake up! Manners still count and as I've told my children, PLAY NICE! OK, so that was my small vent for the day!

Isn't my monkey cute? He's one of two new stamps from Great Impressions that I got on Saturday. I had to control myself this time. I really enjoy using the GI stamps and every month they come out with new ones. I found these scrap pieces of paper in my stash from last year. They work perfect. I added lots of glitter to the balloons. I stamped a second set out and then mounted them on top of the first set. I found a box of heart brads at HL.

Well, I guess I better get something done this morning now that I'm up. It's very cloudy and usually warm today in Dallas. It's 70 already at 7 AM!

That's right today is going to sunny and warm here in Dallas! I've been so cold for a week now all I want to do is run outside and warm up! In the 70S today! YEA!

I've been making a few new cards and want to share them with you but first I have to say how good the last two days have been. Barry still doesn't have a job yet, but at least the his cell is ringing now and he had a phone interview yesterday. That's a large step in the right direction for us. We are hoping that next week will finally bring a late Christmas gift our way!

I also have to say once again how blessed I am to have some really good friends. I spoke to two girlfriends on new years eve that I've know for ages but they both live at either end of the world to me. I've know Laura since our youngest were little and we got together because our husband met first and knew we would just "hit" it off! We did and are still friends after 30 years. The second friend I spoke with is Celia. We've known each other since High School. And if you can believe this we are still and young and pretty as we were then! NO really! We lost touch for a while, but I'm so glad that Celia and her husband John are back in our lives and our friends. We picked up the friendship from so many years ago as if those years just melted away! See I blessed!

                   This card was made using a stack of paper I found on sale on J's. It's suppose to be "boy" paper but I bought it for all the really pretty spring colors. I'm not much of a purple person but purple does seem like a pretty color for spring. I flower brad is from T's $ spot. They had a package of them in different colors. The flower and butterfly are SU stamps and the verse is from Endless Creations.                             This next card is "so" me card! I love lots of layers, just in case you didn't notice, and there are plenty on this card. The paper is from SU Cutie Pie. I'm glad to see it's still in the catalog in case I need to have more! All the animal pieces were stamped and then cut out and pop dots were used. The birthday wishes were just stamped out and then cut apart. I guess this is the "newest" look on cards and I don't want to MISS any new things!

Well, I'm off to enjoy my Saturday sunshine. Barry is still in bed, but he'll be up soon and then it's off to do the chores. You know, Michael's, Target's, and maybe a scrapbook store or two! I did get an email that Basic Grey's new paper is at the LSS, but I already have some on the way. Maybe I'll just have to check it out anyway!

A VERY NEW YEAR

I hope everyone out there in blog land had a wonderful New Year and now you're ready to really get creative! OK, so maybe that's my wish! I've been real creative since the new year. I've managed to make two new cards  Well with Barry home and it's been so cold I don't seem to have my get-up-and-go. It seems to have gone! Tonight I do have a whole 4-5 hours to myself. Barry went off to a Lion's meeting. I don't know what to do first. I sure don't feel like spending the time cleaning or washing, but then again, I never feel like that! Maybe I'll go check out M's $ stamps and see if they have any new ones in yet.

I spoke with a friend of mine on the phone last night and today she sent me an email to say how I made her day with my laughing with her. It should be me that's thanking her for her friendship. Talking with her always makes me feel special. Yes, she's young enough to be my daughter or maybe the daughter I never had, but we share so many things in common. Besides both of us being beautiful, no laughing, we both love to create! That's something alot of us can share. You see, I think that the girls who read this blog and like blogs are all "sisters". We all love the same things. The same things make us happy and are who we are. I'm a lucky girl to have so many SISTERS!

One more thing, if you don't like something on my blog or have a problem with what I've said, the polite thing is to email me and let me know. I wouldn't even do that if I found something on someone's blog, but I'm not a rude person. I really am tired of rudeness, so lets STAMP IT OUT!  I like my play on words!!

This card is made from one of those oldies, but goodies SU stamp sets. It's the perfect set for making cards for the guys. I have to confess that I found this layout in my stash of favorites that I keep. I added printed paper from Daisy D and the circle celebrate. There is some glitter on the water and the fish as well. Even for guys I can use a little glitter!
