Starting to Feel Like Christmas

I'm so gad Halloween is almost over. I don't want to think about that big bowl of candy in my kitchen anymore. It just sits there and calls my name everytime I go in the room. How wrong is that?? Well tonight it ends, maybe after I check out Madelyn's candy first. She doesn't really like to share candy with Grandma. The child was born with a sugar tooth and she takes her candy seriously! I can't to see her anyway!

I love the rich colors that this card shows off. I was looking for some paper in my holiday stash and came upon this nice stack from Wally World that I got last year. It looks great with this years colors from SU. This is one of 4 cards I've made using this paper. Think it will sell well? I hope so!

How many cards are you making this year? Are you selling them? Where are you selling them? I know with the Angel policy changing with SU there will be lots more sellers in the market. I just hope there is still a small piece for me!

Countdown day is coming for both the Flourishes stamps and Kitchen Sink! Stay turned for tomorrow to see samples, I hope, from both companies. I know that the KS stamps are on their way, but I don't get my mail until late in the day, so we'll see. I can't wait to play with new stamps!

If You Were A Punch....

Where would you be? I've lost another something in my studio, so now I can't find the tiny little circle punch that was always sitting on my desk before it got moved when the Inlaws came. I NEED to find it for the center of the flowers I'm making. Oh well, I guess I can move on to another card or something like that. I've moved on 3 times already this morning. NOTHING is working. The MOJO is gone to the beach! That's right, just because we are land locked in Dallas, except for lakes, which don't count, I can escape to the beach with just making a card! Meet Ms Bella Beach Baby! If I can't be there at least I can think about her being there! The card is now winging it's way for an RAK with some images. I know this person will love it!

I have a lovely card to share that I got from Deb in San Diego before the fire forced her from her home for a week. Thank goodness she's able to go back now and get back to crafting!

It's so pretty IRL and has lots of glitter and shine on it. Thanks so much for thinking of me on my special day.

Have to run and get something done. I've been playing all morning and have no cards done to show for it. I did have several cups of coffee and more cold medicine. Maybe I can blame my lack of MOJO on the med's! Hey it's worth a try!!

BEST LAID PLANS

You know what they say about best laid plans, well that's my day! It sure is Monday! I'm working with a list of things to do today and so far, I'm not checking many off. I had planned to post a card that my friend Deb from San Diego sent me last week for my birthday, but since my batteries are still recharging in my camera, that's not happening today. I'll get the card on tomorrow. I thought I'd say a few words about all the friends I've made. Both friends that I can touch and feel and those who we only know as cyber friends. To me, they are the same. I talk to Barry about this friend or that as if he should know them like I do. He said I should get some more "real" friends not long ago and that hurt! Do you feel as close to them as other friends, maybe. I have girlfriends that I've know for 40 years. They will always be my friends no matter where or what path life takes me, but these "new" friends are just as golden! I love touching base with the crafters I've met over the web. I want to hear about their day and their kids and even their grandkids. Are we all the same? NO, but the thing that makes us all alike is we love to create. And as Martha says "that is a good thing"! So, give your new cyber buddy an email or send a card and tell them you care!!

I made this card some time ago, but today is seems the perfect card to share with all my "friends"!

RARE SATURDAY VISIT

I don't usually post on the weekends, but since Barry has a meeting this morning and I did have plans to attend an SU Open House, I'm up early. You know what they say about best laid plans! I've been fighting off a cold for the last few days and now it's arrived and I have no voice.  I tend to get colds in my chest and then lose my voice. Guess what, it happened again! My kids love it, even now as grown-ups when that happens. They think it's so much fun to see Mom with no voice. Sick kids I tell you, sick kids! Well, since I'm not going to the open house, I thought I'd post a card or two and then do some work on more holiday cards. They are selling really well this year. I'm so glad since money is very tight these days. When isn't it?

I love how this card turned out. So much in fact that I made two, just changed up the papers I used. The paper is from SU Apple Cider. It's in the Mini Catty. The butterfly is in Pumpkin Pie. I think that's one of my favorite colors. I'm a fall person and just love those rich warm colors. I added some gems to the centers of the flowers and the butterfly wing. They are K&Co.

OK, back to Christmas now. I used my Cuttlebug on the Sky paper and then just pushed the ink over the paper to give it some depth. The center paper is from Figgy Pudding. You know, NEVER waste a piece of it! I wanted to add a snowflake but it was purple. I've never colored on metal with my Copic markers, but as you can see it can be done! I did several layers of coloring to get it all covered. This little snow guy is one of my favorites for this holiday season.

CARD TO MATCH

I love the new colors of my blog so much that I thought I'd try a card to match and I had a lot of these color scraps laying around on my desk and liked the way it all looked together! My three little guys are from Great Impressions and the Let it Snow is part of Hero Arts. I wanted the snowflake to match since it was just white I colored it with my purple Copic marker. IRL there is so much glitter on this card, it's really pretty!

Barry took the day off. He's got lots of Comp Time to use or lose, so it was my lucky day! We had a great breakfast, when to get our drivers license renewed and then off to Home Depot. Lucky us! He did change some of the light bulbs in the house and put ant killer in the yard. Now it's nap time for him and free time for me!

I got some new stamps in the mail today. First I got the November release from Flourishes. Wait till you see this one. It's the top of elegant. Then I got a set of stamps from Plum Purdy. The cutest Ginger Bread Girl. I can't wait to play with them both tomorrow. I have so much stamping to get done this weekend and an open house to go to. Maybe I need that nap now!

New Look

Like the new look to this site? I do. It just seems so warm and inviting in nice crisp colors! Thank you everyone for the warm wishes yesterday on my birthday. I had a great day. It was the night that was not so good. The fridge is dying and will now be replaced with a new from Home Depot! It seemed like the ice cream wasn't freezing yesterday and it turns out the compressor is going, so off I went this morning after the repair man left and bought a new one. Just what I was looking for on my birthday! NOT! I have to look at the bright side. I don't have to clean the inside of the old one now!

Is this a cute card or what? I used my SU Holiday Tag Team set for it and combined several different papers. The backround print is from DaisyD's holiday papers and the two smaller ones are from Figgy Pudding. If I cut it in smaller pieces it will go a long further!

For my birthday the kids gave me GC to Ebay! The know how much I enjoy the shopping over there, no to mention the selling! So now I have $75 to spend on ME! They gave me the same thing last year and I saved it up to buy SU stamps when the newer stuff came out and I'm sure I'll do the same again. I buy from some really good seller that don't overcharge and ship good.

Oh WOW! Another Birthday!

I woke up this morning and almost forgot it was my birthday. Seemed like a nice normal day, whatever normal is, but then when I opened my email---I had some many well wishes! Nice way to start the day! I went to Stamp Club last night and got wonderful gifts from my friend Gretchen. She took pictures all my goodies and she's just starting a blog, so please check it out and leave a comment! I will have to take a picture of the mug she gave me--when my eyes open! For right now you'll have to enjoy this cute little gift card I made using Flourishes set called Sweet Treats. I needed a gift card to enjoy in a small thank you gift to mail out and this little 3x3 is perfect! I used some of the new Figgy Pudding on the base and added lots of glitter to the cupcake.

I finally got lots of cardstock now and so I have no excuses left for not making holiday cards. OK, I'm sure I can come up with some, but I really do have to go to work now. Have a great day and thanks for all the birthday wishes!

GOOD NEWS WEEK

There is a song out there that starts with "good news week, it's gonna be a good news week". Well something like that. Since the week started yesterday, my week already started good! First let me say congrats to Dawn Griffith who won the randomly draw number for the Jacksonbell Gift Certificate! I've already emailed her the copy and she can get in touch with Lindsey and have fun!

I've also got some other news to share. The new design team from Kitchen Sink Stamps has been released and my name is on the list! I knew about it earlier in the week but didn't want to let the cat out of the bag early. If you go to the link you will be able to check out the whole team and even try and get some FREE stamps!

And finally a card I made using my new BG Figgy Pudding paper! It really is very, very cute stuff and on this card I teamed it up with Boatload of Love from SU. I thought it would make a cute Christmas card! Lots of glitter was added for the final touch. You can never have too much glitter.

Thanks everyone for all your good wishes on my blog and for my birthday. I got my present from Barry on Friday. He bought me home 2 dozen roses and then on Saturday we went shopping for some new clothes. Tonight is Stamp Club night and I still have to think of what I want. I really just need to order paper. I think somebody has been eating my cardstock lately as the BIG pile is going down fast!

BIG BANG CANDY

I can't believe I'm almost at 20,000 hits on my blog. I'm sure they can't all be mine when I check to see if anybody is out there! Everyone has been so kind to me and listened to my stories and had a great belly laugh about them. For this I'm thankful! So thankful in fact that I've got a great blog candy giveaway today. Next Tuesday is my birthday also, so I wanted to combine it all. For the give away I'm giving a $20 gift certificate to my favorite spot on ebay,  Jacksonbell. I do have one card to share that I made this morning for a challenge on SCS. I love the way it turned out. I can't get enough of this set of stamps!

Have a great weekend. We are cat sitting. The kids are going out of town and we get to feed the gang. Twice a day. It a good thing they just live down the street! George loves Grandpa! He's a big beautiful black and white cat that comes running when he hears Barry's voice. I'd love to take him home, but Barry still says no kitties! Oh well, I make him pay for that remark all the time!

Gotta Run!

This is short and sweet today! I gotta go and get dressed and run over to my LSS. They sent an email to say they had Figgy Pudding in! Gretchen, I'll get you some---I won't want you to miss out! I made a few cards yesterday. I was more a day of planning. Planning what, I don't know, but it seemed like every card I made (4) took hours to work on. One of those days!

This is one of the cards I worked on yesterday. I'm so glad I bought the Priceless set from SU. It was one of those last minute choices from Stamp Club. You can make it fit any season. The paper is Apple Cider and just screams, FALL to me. Can you see I have a color theme going with these cards!

This card was an case'd form another I saw on SCS, but I had to make. It called my name. I couldn't remember just how it looked, so I added my own touches---ribbon, dyed with my Copic makers to match.

Well, gotta go now, but everyone come back tomorrow for my 20,000 Hit Party! I can't believe it's happening. As they, from small beginning....
