Love Blooms In Me

Ahoy Matey!

I have a wonderful friend who has two young sons whom Barry and I send post cards to. It's so fun to hear how much they enjoy getting mail. Well, Micheal has a birthday next week and today I made this card to sent to him! Don't tell, it's a secret!! I used my CB for the back round. The paper is Real Red but it didn't turn out so dark in the picture. I colored all the other items with my copic markers and then used some "gem" stones for the treasure. I'm made several of these cards using the same idea. It works well for any age and any sex.

I hope everyone had a chance to check out my challenge day over at SCS. It was making cards using green and blue and it had to have animals on it. Sounds like me doesn't it? One card is cuter then the next. I'm glad we don't have to pick a winner or anything like that!

Today Barry had an interview with a headhunter about a job and they were going to submit his resume to the company. He also had a call from a company he used to work for and they are submitting his papers back at Bank of America. That's really the one he wants because that's where he was working before he had the surgery. I just want him to find a job before his parents come in September! That is better left for another day's story!!

Well, I hope everyone had a good weekend and now is getting to create, create, create or at least think about it. You know, read a paper craft magazine or something like that. Thanks for dropping by to see my humble creations!!

I WHEELY LIKE YOU!

Fun Card! I've used the bike stamp before but when I saw the Amuse stamp with the "wheely" I knew it would be perfect! The bike stamp is from Great Impressions and the butterfly is also from Great Impressions. I pulled out my word set from Flourishes for the Friend. I added only the center blue flower first but then thought it needed something more. More for me, as Martha says, is a good thing! In order to get the right shade of green I colored the prima, which was white to begin with, with my Copic marker. I also added a little more color around the edges for the big blue one to match a bit better. To finish off the card I added some extra ribbon from Jacksonbelle. I almost forget the most important thing---the new paper called Cutie Pie from the new Stampin Up catalog! Full of fun prints...check them out!

Doin' Nothin'

I don't know about anybody else, but I love to have a nice Saturday to myself where I don't have to really do anything. That's my day today! Barry is gone for the whole day with Lion's Club stuff and I can or not eat, sleep or play in my Studio! I did go out early this morning and hit Target. I found some baskets for my shelves. I'm not sure if they're going to work, but I have to have a better system then I have right now. I had to stop at M's and check out the $ stamps. I got 3 new one's. I swear I've heard of women going in there and buying 50 at a time. I'd rather spend my money on Prima Flowers!!!

This is a card that I made for the challenges over at SCS for paper piecing. I love working with this set. The package is from one of those M's $ sets and the round stamp I found at Hobby Lobby. I'm trying to get in the spirit of Fall. I love flowers but I think I need to feel a little bit cooler right now! The paper I used is from the new Basic Grey 6x6 pad. I love the size of the patterns on those sheets.

GRAND OPENING DAY!

Today's the day we're been waiting for, the Grand Opening of Flourishes! It's finally here and I'm sure everyone joins me in wishes Jan Maire, Shannon, and Nancy along with all the other designers the best of luck today! One last card today using the Word set from Flourishes. It's just such an elegant set of stamps--check them out for yourself! Since the gals at SCS helped me get over my fear that Priam flowers are on their way out, I added a nice big new one that I just got! It's a fun color and goes well with the new SI designer papers.

Today we're babysitting with Madelyn. Her day-care is closed due to a death in the family, so Grandpa and I get to visit with her! Not a hardship by any means. Well, she just arrived and Grandma has her work cut out for her today. She came with her own stamps! It must be something in the blood!!

Designer Papers

I cracked open a brand new package of SU designer paper for my DDG swap and now I think that I should have more! Do you ladies have that problem...you know...use a bit of something new and fear it will be all gone and you can't get it back?? OK, I suffer from that as well! The card I'm showing today is made using the new paper from SU called Porcelain Prints. It's so much prettier IRL then the book shows. The Happy Birthday is from my new Flourishes. You should count this set as a must have. There are so many choices of words and combinations you can make with them. 

I used some of the new card stock and ribbon for this card as well. Soft Sky is the name of the color. The picture shows the color a lot bluer then it really is, but trust me, it's really a nice pretty shade.

So today I'm really going to try and clean my Studio. I went to HL yesterday in search of basket that would work on my shelves, but they didn't have any at a good price. I think IKEA is on the list for today. I really need to clean up the room. I can't find any thing nor do I have a place to even put all my new SU products.

Lady of Love Tag

Did I tell you that I love this new word set from Flourishes?? It's got 27 of the prettiest words you've seen.  

I bought some new stamps from Stamp Zia and it's a little different for me, but when I added the new Flourish stamps, my tag came together. First I cut a piece of cream card stock and ran three colors of ink around the edges going from light to dark. Next I stamped the bottom and then the lady. I filled in the area with some little stamps and more ink . When I punched the hole for the ribbon I got a little carried away and picked up a larger punch then I thought. Because of that I had to fill in the hole some with extra ribbons but I think that gives it some more life. The flower is from all my stash of new prima flowers from Frugalities. So many pretty new one's!

This is the second card I made today using the new set. This time I made the cake into a flower pot! All I did was stamp on a top part of the cake and cut it out and much to my surprise I had a flower pot! Everyone knows I love flower pots. I stamped some SU flowers on and added "Friend" from the word set and a finished card! Because I wanted to make a more "Paula" card I added the brads and ribbon. JUST PERFECT!

I finally finished up my swap cards for a swap I'm in with the other DDG girls. I tried to make them all alike, but I didn't want to have to cut another piece of my new designer paper from SU so I used what ever pieces I had. I really am pleased with the way they turned out. I'll post them after the swap is done.

Tomorrow I think I'll try cleaning up again!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAKE

This is the first card I've made for the New Design Team.

Well, what do ya think?? I made this card using my new stamps from Flourishes. There are two new sets of stamps, the cake set which has 34 stamps to play with. You can really make this cake be anything from Birthday to Wedding! For my cake I stamped the out line stamp in pink and then used my aqua painter to color in the green lines and the pink of the cake. After I stamped a second cake outline, I cut apart the top half and used pop dots to give the cake a bit more dimension.

The second set of stamps includes 27 word stamps. I'm really in love with these. Right now on the site they are offering a package including the two sets of stamps, a pad of 6x6 Basic Grey Infusion paper and ribbon! All you need to do is add ink and you'll be ready to stamp!

Also used was the new corner punches from SU along with some gold brads.

Just Another Sunday With Candy!

Oh Sunday! I love getting up early on Sunday morning and reading the newspaper ads. It always seems like the whole world is open to buy and nothing beats a nice cuppa coffee with NO noise in the house on a Sunday morning. Well, it didn't work out like that today. I got up and put a load in the washer and then went to my studio to do a little work. Notice I've renamed my happy room The Studio. I think it makes it sound like I'm doing something more then playing around! I'm working on my first card for the new design team. It's a little different then I usually play around with, and I want the perfect card, so it's taking me some time to get it right. I'm posting a card I made using a new Fluffles and yes, the same paper as the last one. I like the two together! He is such a darling kitty!

So what is everyone up to today? Leave me a note and I'll draw a number from the random number thingy and give away some nice blog candy when my counter gets to 8700! I got an extra pad of Brenda Walton paper and I'd love to share. It's an 8x8 pad. I'll keep the design a surprise.

Tomorrow Stamp Club starts up again. I can't wait to see all my buddies! Denise makes the evening so much fun. I've made a wish list of all the new (ok, just some) of what I want to get in the coming months. I have high hopes it will be "my month" sooner then later and I'll get lots of free goodies! That's the plan, but we know how plans can go!

Update on Barry now. He's really feeling so much better health wise. That's so great to see. I know he'll be back to his old self with a new job. It's pretty slim right now in Dallas. There doesn't seem to be much out there in IT that's not on the PC. He's a mainframer. Well, I'm sure the good lord will take care of us somehow. Or we move in with the kids! He's be gone all day next Saturday and I'll have the whole day to play. I'll let you know what I do!

Yesterday!

WoW what a day it turned out to be! It was so much fun seeing my name in "lights" so to speak. The start of a new venture is full of high hopes for everyone and I'm so glad to be a part of it. I received my package of new stamps and several from Frugalities. Can we say lots of new Prima Flowers and so much chipboard! To top off the day Barry and I went to play the slots. The casino is only an hour drive for us and we manged to loss just 7 bucks, so that't not too bad!

This is a card I made for someone who's very special to me. My big sister! I haven't mailed it out yet. I forgot today when I went to the post office, but I will get it to her. I used some AMuse cards. I foget about these all the time until they fall on my head (from the shelf I keep them on) and I added a new flower from PetaLoo. I got lots of new from my shopping spree on line! Hope you like the card and have a wonderful day!
