Isn't this the cutest frog you've ever seen?! This card was sent to me by my little secret sister in a swap that ended in May. IRL this is so charming. Everything is popped up and just hops right off the page! Again, thanks Cheryl for thinking of me!

Last night I went to the open house at Denise's for the new catty. Oh WOW, Oh WOW is all I can say. I wanted to buy so much. I did order a few sets and some of the new paper and ink. My wish list is long and to think we only 6 months with this catalog. One set that I discovered when I can home to read and reread my catalog is called Designer Announcements. I didn't buy it because I didn't notice it, but I think this is going to be my next purchase and there is an alphabet set to go with it that I feel the "need" to have with it.

If anybody knows which colors in the Copic line will match the new SU colors could you let me know. I just can't get enough of those markers.

OH HAPPY DAY!

Oh yea baby, it's the day I get to see the SU catty! Open house here I come! I love to see all the samples that get into the catalog. Not that mine ever look like those, but it's so fun to see lots of new things!

I made this card this morning using some BG papers I've had for a while. It will have to do until my new pads come in. They're on there way! I know this isn't the type of card I usually make and that was the point of the whole thing. I've been looking at lots of blogs with wonderful vintage looking cards and thought I should give it a try. Do you like it? I'm pretty happy with it myself. I cut the hearts out of a fourth piece of paper from the pad and stamped out the flower using my trusty Lizzie Anne flower. Maybe I got a little carried away on the buttons, but they just jumped right onto the paper. The "happy" is from a card of K & Co chipboard words. Already done---that's my kind of chipboard.

MELON ANYONE?

Maybe this card is a bit too busy, but then again maybe not. Blame it on my Secret Sister Cheryl. I got a wonderful surprise package in the mail from her today along with a great frog card (which I'll post tomorrow) and she used a similar layout and since I was half way into this card, I took what she did to the corners and added the look to mine!

This is a new Doodlebug set of stamps. They are clear, but stamp really nicely with Stazon ink. I used my Copic markers to color in the melons. I don't know who makes the paper since I only had a small piece left over from another project, but it looks like a picnic tablecloth IRL.

Only two more days until I see the new SU catty! I will start counting the hours soon!

A DANDY LION

My friend Cris reminded me that I hadn't made any cards using this SU set Wild... for a while, so I made this one. The orange polka dot paper is from Crate Paper and the green is from My Mind's Eye. I stamped the animals out first and then cut them. The dandy lions stamp is from Amuse. I wanted to stamp the verse out on white card stock, but it took up too much room on the card. It's only a 4.25x4.25 size. I used a small amount of stickles on the sun. The green is sage green. It looks more blue in the picture, but trust me, it's sage. It's a color I don't use very often and wonderful why. It's really so pretty IRL.

The dinner last night was wonderful. They several buffet and I found several things that I ate. I'm such a picky eater. I know you'd never know to look at me, but I am. They had beef and chicken that was good, along with spring rolls that I needed to have several of. NO dessert. Too bad cause I like that part of dinner the best!

I haven't done much stamping lately. The weather is rainy and it seems like I should just watch the British Mysteries I have on my DVR. I love them. Well, maybe tomorrow I'll get my act together.

Arrr...Birthday Boy

I saw a card done by rohla on SCS and there it began! I think this card is perfect for any age Pirate who has a birthday. I've used SU stamps along with lots of nice bright colors. They are my Copic markers. They do take some getting used to. You only have to make a tiny mark and the color will spread. I used Cheesecloth for the back round and stamped some of the anchors long the bottom. The gems come from Hobby Lobby. The patch is shinny due to using Crystal Effects. I'm so happy with the way it turned out.

Tonight Barry and I are going to a Lion's Club installation dinner. It's a buffet at an upscale Chinese place. We had it there last year too.

Only 4 more days until I get to see the new SU catty! Hurry, Hurry, Hurry!

YEA, IT'S FRIDAY! BLOG CANDY

It's so sinful to wish away the days, but I've been looking forward to the end of the week--all week! First off, our son Evan and his GF are off to far away lands today for two weeks. They are going to Amsterdam to visit my niece for a few days, to Italy, and then to Germany. So nice to be single and young. What a combination! We took Evan to the airport today and waved good bye. Just like sending him off to camp.

Tomorrow Barry will be busy from 6 AM till the early afternoon with Lion's Club training. Can't wait to have some time to myself. If only the LSS would open at 7. We don't have much else planned for the weekend. Maybe I can get some work done in the house. Maybe not!

I love best of cluck, but forget about this set all the time. When I saw this paper at my scrapbook store last week I knew I'd be using this set. The lay out is from a challenge on SCS. Works well with this set. I used a big back round stamp for the chicken wire and some prima's to finish it up.

I need to use up some of those. I have lots and in fact so many, I'd like to share. I'd like to share a mixed bunch from all the one's I have, so if you leave a comment about your weekend plans, I'll draw a random number on Monday and send some out. I know it's not as fun as some blog candy, but hey, it's a slow weekend!

New Turtle Stamp!

Is he or isn't he the cutest little turtle you've seen today? When I was in Florida I saw alot of stamps from Great Impressions and so I went on line last week and ordered bunches of these cuteies! 

I first stamped out the hat first and then colored it in. On top of that I added Crystal Liquid. Now the hat and all the spots on the turtle are shinin! The paper is from Basic Grey and I got lots of new ribbon this week at Hobby Lobby at their 1/2 sale. Who can pass up a sale?!~ I colored the whole thing with my Copic markers. The colors are so rich and pure. One of my favorite colors is Sand. The turtles face is colored using that.

WINNERS GIFT

I am so happy the way this set turned out and I hope the winner will be too. Jodene requested green and purple colors for her teen daughter so I went to work with those colors. Since it is for a young lady, I wanted to do something a little "funky"!

Lots of glitter was added with this set and the stamps are from Lizzie Anne. The paper is from Basic Grey from several years ago.

Not much new in the Bloom house. We did go out to lunch with the whole gang on Father's Day to Outback. Love the bloomin' onion. Madelyn and Justin gave their Grandpa a large glass jar of nuts. They even added fish stickers to make it personal for him.

I gave him the same thing he gave me for Mother's Day---yes that's right---nothing! We don't exchange gifts. We came to that understanding long ago that I'm not his mom and he's not my dad, besides we spent enough in Florida on our trip.

Still haven't heard anything about his job yet and he seems in no hurry. I on the other hand, am starting to go a bit crazy. I love him dearly, but it's time for Barry and I to have a little space between us. I get some work done in the mornings, but after that it's "what do we want to do"? Well, I hope he gets ready for work soon.

I've gotten all the cards done for my friend Celia and now have to mail them out. I've also made her some surprise gifts in her package. Can't wait until she see's them all. I'm just waiting for the last of the glitter and glue to dry and then it's off in the mail! This is the last of the cards. I used my cuttlebug for the solid color paper and a scrap of sea paper for the bottom.

I do have one thing to share if anyone wants some cute, cheap western stamps. I found some at M's today while looking for ribbon. They were $1 each. I got 3. A cowboy hat, stars and a sheriff's badge. They have handles on them. I think they're for kids, but a stamp is a stamp. I'll have to work on using them for a card.
