Gee, Another One of Those Weeks!

I swear that every time I think I'm getting into a better place, I seem to shotmyself in the foot. Sometimes I wish it was my heart or head! This broke thing is not building character or anything like that. It sucks! Wondering where you'll find money to buy food or where you find that same little green stuff to pay the mortgage is almost too much to bear. I want to hit the lotto! If I check my spam mail it does look like I've won big. I should say BIG! Barry had a chance to get over 100 million bucks yesterday. Does anybody fall for these emails? I guess they do. I've been almost ready to push that button myself, but then I remember I don't know anybody that works for BOA. That's not Bank of America, it's Bank of Africa! And to think they wanted to give me 8 millions dollars yesterday!

Enough of my troubled heart for now. I know you'd like to see some of the new creations I made in the past few days. I did alot, uploaded them to my little darling little ebay store and then they sold like hotcakes! I need to be working on some more, but my little creative light bulb is on dim this morning. So, I'll share what was on there!

  

  

Like them all? Snappy was the latest card I made yesterday, then my cutting blade gave out. Barry took me to buy new ones last night, so now it's time to go back to work.

A Nice Weekend At The Beach

I wish! If I can't spend the weekend having fun in the sun, then my darling little Riley The Moose is going in my place!

 

He's ready to jump right into the water! I made this card yesterday, let it dry so I could take a picture and then added it to my ebay store. I added 4 new cards and almost instantly they were sold! I'm still trying to work on keeping it stocked with new cards and stamps, but it's hard when they fly out the door! It's a good thing. The only pet peeve I have is that it takes some buyers so long to pay! That's one thing I don't understand. I buy ALOT off ebay and always pay right away. I want my stuff instantly and if I pay quickly, it will get mailed out!  

Do you have plans for the long holiday weekend? There's a 50-50 chance of rain tomorrow so we have to see what we do. I was hoping it would be nice enough to swim in Evan's pool, but it might not be warm enough for that. If you know Texas weather, that's a strange thing to say in May. It's usually hot as the devil right now, but we've had a nice Spring so far. Well, there's always the $ movie and crafting, but when Barry's home I don't get much of that done. He might go to Lion's Convention tomorrow. That would be nice.

Card Overload

I have been chained to my desk and making card after card! HELP!!! Ok, I did take a nap break, but that's allowed! I even took some time yesterday to clean up some of my work area. Now I can't find my Martha Butterfly Punch! This morning I'm working on some simple cards to put in my ebay shop. I thought if I could put some lower priced cards on there that it might get me some more business. So that's my mission today!

 

Aren't they just darling? No these are not the simple cards I want in my store. They are some really, really pretties. The first one is using the new BG paper Gretchen gave me. I wish I had more. It's so pretty. It's a shame that BG doesn't make the smaller print papers in a 12 x 12 size. I find that the small prints are perfect for card making. 

The second card is using some more BG papers that I have in my hoard. I had to part with them! This card also uses a fun Inky Antics stamp that I've had for several years. It never goes out of style! 

Now I really need to go and create something. I don't know about everyone, but for me Thursday are hard for me to really work hard. I'm tired by then, so I really have to push myself. So now I'm pushing!

One last thing----Congrats to Gwen----on becoming the world's youngest Grandma!! Her daughter gave birth this week to her first grandchild! They are so sweet! 

Too Much Sun!

Did I say just how sunny yesterday was? I know I said because it was such a pretty day we were going to the baseball game. Well we did and it was so much fun! We had great seats---just a little high up---but we could see the whole field. The problem came when we got to the game and there was no seats in the covered area that we could get with our vouchers we had, so we sat in the sunny side. I now look like a half sister to a lobster! We stayed the whole game because it was tired most of it and then the Rangers won!! My team---better or worse! Us old Washington Senator fans can stand anything! We are used to losing. It's the winning that's hard for us!

Barry went off to school this morning bright and early. I got the wash done, made several cards and now I need to do the dishes. They've been piling up for two days in the sink. I wish someone else could do them. I hate doing the dishes! I made some pretty cards this morning, but I don't have any pictures yet so I'll share from another day. They'll go in my ebay shop. Check them out if you haven't already.

  Like it? I know I have a hard time making "guy" cards. It think lots of us do. I'm good with flowers. I'm good with animals, but I'm trying to do the Father's Day thing now. If only guys like ribbon and glitter on their cards it would be so simple!

A Good Day For Baseball

It's bright and sunny with the weather behaving today. There is a Texas Rangers Baseball game this afternoon and all is right with the world! If I can get Barry up soon, we're headed to the game. We got a package of tickets from Larry & Tina for Hanukkah this year so we can go to the game for the price of parking and maybe an ice cream! My Rangers are in first place.

I got lots of stamping done yesterday. I uploaded 13 cards to my darling little ebay shop. Check them all out! I don't know which one I like the best! Today I put them out for bids. Lately I've just been doing a BT (buy it now) price, but I really think my cards are worth more money. I'm not trying to make a million, but I put so much time and lots of embellisments on each card, that I think folks will still get a bargin for a hand made card!

 Ok, I thought about it, and this is the one I made last night and it's got to be my favorite of this batch. Well, maybe. I really like every card I make. I used some Making Memories paper and a Verve little verse, along with some beautiful Prima Flowers that I got at M's with a 40% coupon. They are the prettiest soft colors. Martha's butterflies are a permanent fixture in lots of my Spring cards!

Morning Sunshine?

What a joke that is! We have rain, clouds, and more rain today! Barry and I had several outdoor activities we planned for today, and now they are both postponed! I guess it's the $ movie for us today!

Barry finished his first week in school feeling much better about what he's doing. It's hard for him to try new things and it's been hard this week. He's not as fast as the younger people in his class, but remember the turtle won the race and the first place just might be a new job! He's had several phone interviews this week, so maybe things are looking up.

Yesterday I was busy making cards again. So what else is new. I've been up for the last hour at Creation Station coloring away. I got my new Riley stamps in the mail yesterday. I had great success with the selling the train Riley from the images my friend Kim sent me that I ordered him for myself and I also got the Riley in a beach tube. I don't know what it is about the Riley The Moose stamps, but when I work with them, they make me happy. Something about them puts a smile on my face and I think we all need a little of that medicine!

I'm not a big baby card making, but a few are always good to have around. This is is make with my favorite (and only) baby set. I got to use up a little more of my SU scraps. I hate to part with any.

Almost Friday!

Even if you don't work outside the house, Friday is a special day! It seems like all the bad things that happened during the week will finally be at an end. The weekends mean good things, even if they don't always work out that way. Just something about Friday! I know I still have to get through Thursday and that is always a nasty type of day. Why, who knows, but it seems to be one of those "off" days. You know, where things don't always seem to go as planned. Believe me today is one of "those Thursdays!" Money was suppose to be deposited in our checking account today---not there. I was trying to get more and more work done on cards, but that didn't happen. I'm beat! I've been making and making and still don't have enough done, but it's time to give it a rest!

I did make several new cards for my ebay store. I've sold some of them already. I think I need a better system. Maybe sell them somewhere else. I have to give it some thought.

  

Here is Butterfly Tilda. I got this image in my RAK last week. She is so so cute! I colored two images and cut one out except for the butterfly wings. I mounted that on top of the other. I found lots of flowers in my stash. I'm always trying to use up those tiny little bits of scrap paper. I have to part with any of it. This type of layering is great for that. Give it a try!

Barry is finally enjoying school. The first several days were very hard, but when he called at lunch today it seemed as if it was starting to fall into place. This is only his fourth day, so I'm very, very, very happy for him. It's hard to remember anything some days, let along something brand new! He's had a few calls about jobs too, but we don't hold out any hope on those anymore. Being out of work for 10 months will do that too you. I had a bill collector call me to say something was late by 19 days today. I said "that's all"? He asked how he could help and I said the winning lotto numbers would do for a start! See, it's Thursday!

Pretty, Pretty Basic Grey

School is going well for Barry. Today was his second day and it seemed to get harder! All of this is so different from anything he know in programming. He's been doing it for over 40 years, but now it's like starting over again. I have faith he'll do just fine. A headhunter called about a job this afternoon and of course he applied. I'm not sure weather it would be a good idea to take anything right now or not. He really needs time to study and work at his new craft, but we really could use the money! What else is new with that!

My cards have been flying off ebay. I keep raising the price and they keep selling. If only I could work harder. Sometimes it seems like I just want to lay down and nap. I know that's just me feeling sorry for myself and a little depressed. I'm trying to work myself out of feeling that way. I know when I have enough money to pay all the bills in one month, then I'll feel much better. Who out there won't feel the same way?

I'm off to watch the end of the Biggest Loser and get some sleep in before the next day starts all over again. We start our day at 6 now with Barry going off to school. At least I get a lot done in the morning. Good thing I'm a morning person!

Monday, Monday...

We woke up at 6 AM this morning to be ready for Barry's big day at school. I need a nap now! I made him breakfast and off he went. It's now almost 4 and I haven't heard from him yet! I hope everything is going well for him at school and it's all making sense.

I've been busy myself. I got the wash done. I don't think I did any last week and so I had to play catch up with that. Then I worked on cards. Lots of cards! This is one made using me new BG from Gretchen. I saw the layout some time ago and saved it. I love the way it turned out.

How did I get along before my Martha butterfly punch? The card is very elegant. I used SU basic grey as my base since I couldn't find a purple to match in my stash. The ribbon is a pale grey as well.

It's time to make some Father's Day cards so I dug out one of the few guy sets I have. It was bought from SU years ago. I wanted to use several pieces of printed papers I had laying around on my desk, so I played until they worked.
