Can you guess why I say this? If your a Democrat and you voted already, you know what I mean. The last two elections we thought we were home again, but it wasn't to be and so now it seems like the day has almost come, but just in case, I'm still holding my breath until Tuesday night! Did you vote yet? I'm so proud of my boys (ok, so their grown men) but they vote in the elections and are part of the solutions. If you don't vote you have no right to complain. Please remember to vote!
On Tuesday Barry and I saw the cutest "chic flick". Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants #2. Tuesday is .50 day at the $ movie, so we try to go and see something a few times a month. I liked the first movie better, but it was still good and made you want #3!
My cards are selling this week and that is very exciting. Still not what I think they should be, but getting better. Do you ever feel like your cards are starting to look the same? I think coming up with new layouts is the hardest part of making cards, but we have so many good places online to check out idea's for new things that it seems I'm always surfing the web instead of working on cards. It's just so darn fun!
My friend Anna's husband is holding his own. Still no word on the test results from the wounds he got in battle, but hope is good! Another ceber friend Amy got a new job. I am so happy for her and her family. She's been praying and praying and hopefully her road will be much easier to walk now. Her hubby is still looking and so are alot of friends and loved ones. I'm hoping that will change soon too.
I think each season Basic Grey out does itself in the papers they release and this holiday season is more wonderful then the last. I had the paper all week and finally cut into it yesterday. I wish I had more now! I created these two snowman cards using several different papers and a SU retired snowman stamp. I use this stamp alot. It always make a nice card.
Aren't they pretty?!~ Notice the ribbon? My GF shared some of the new SU ribbon with me on Sunday and it's perfect for this paper!
Life is just moving along-the same as always. Nothing new on the job front. Barry is still looking and we're trying to be hopeful. I ask you---what else can you be? We voted early and now the big wait for one more week. Barry says he'll be happy when I stop talking to the TV! I'll be happy when we have a new President! Good Luck to us all on that one!!
We're off to the Dollar Movie today. It's .50 on Tuesday. I want to see Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants #2. I loved #1. And if we wait until 2 PM to eat lunch we can have free Taco's from Taco Bell to go with our bargain movie! What a deal today is turning out to be!!!
I know it's been a few days of me missing in action on my blog. There's been nothing new to report in the job search for Barry and I think it's finally getting me down. Four months seems like a lifetime of him home with me. I do know others who have been searching longer, and these days nothing is safe, but still, it seems to be dragging me down lately with it. When you feel down, do you lose your MOJO? Mine seems to have taken a holiday this week. I think I've gotten one or two cards completed. Most seem just in need of something. I have a large pile of "need to finish" cards growing on my desk. Oh well...tonight we're going to visit my friend Gretchen and here hubby for birthday dinner. My birthday was Thursday. We had pizza with the kids and I got some much needed gift certificates from them. I got so many emails and cards from friends with well wishes and I thank you all.
This is a card I made about a month ago and never shared. I used some Bella Rose paper from SU and a Verve stamp set. It turned out so pretty.
Well, I'm off to read the morning paper. One of things I like to do on Sunday. See what I'm not spending my money on this week. Have a great day!
My friends husband is being transferred to the US for treatment. We are all praying that this means some better news. Please keep saying a prayer for Anna, TY, and family.
As promised I thought I'd show you some new cards I made this past weekend. I was VERY busy. That is a good thing. I've sold lots of cards this week---too bad they don't make themselves. This is one of those times I wish I could mass produce cards. I have a hard time making two alike, let along twenty! I try, but I love them all to have a different look!
I was going to write something funny and full of life, but then I heard on one of the treads I've been active one for years that one of the member's husband has been hurt overseas. It's very serious, so please say lots of prayers for him and their family. They have two small children and need all the prayers they can get.
Or should I have said, you don't have to pay if your a senior? Yesterday was senior day at our State Fair and Barry and I went for FREE! It's always so fun to go to the fair, but yesterday the weather was perfect. Cloudy and cool. And what could be better then a Fletcher's Corn Dog!! We even go to see the trick dog show! No, really, it was kinda fun to see a dog jump into the air to play catch!
Today we're just resting up from all the walking we did yesterday. From one end of the park to the other and no shuttles in between. I do have to work on some more cards. I seem to be selling all the snowman cards. I love to sell everything I put on ebay but some just sit. I guess those will go into that pile of MIL cards. She's already written almost half of the one's she took home she told me this week. She is a bottomless pit of needing cards!
Isn't this card cute? I used some of last year's BG papers and teamed them up with this years SU colors. I love it when that happens! The mitten and verse are Lizzie Anne.
Nothing big planned for the weekend at our house. Barry is working the special needs sports games tomorrow and I'll be stamping away. Ok, so that's my plan and I'm going to try and stick with it.
Don't forget you can vote early in some states. We can start on Monday and that's what we'll be doing this year. We waited in line for hours during the primary and this time I think we'll play it smarter. Have a wonderful weekend. Come back next week and see what I have planned to celebrate my birthday on Thursday!!! I plan on being 33 again!
Our national election is less then 3 weeks away and if you do your duty to vote this year, you can change the world! Here is the US we've seen how every vote counts in the last two presidential elections and it's even more important in our local and state elections to cast your vote. I'm sure we all have our own opinions of what's right and who we'll vote for, but we MUST vote! The down turn in our economy is hurting us all. Rich or poor, white or black, we all are losing---and this must stop!! So, remember to vote!!
Isn't he cute??? I saw a card on line using this Halloween house and ordered the set from MFT right away! I dug out some more BG paper from last year. I went a little overboard on the holiday paper and have a "bit" left! This is the link to SCS for the card I cased. I hope I did it justice!!
Barry and I went to his 18 month check up from his Cancer surgery and the tests are still showing he's Cancer free and doing fine! We are truly blessed by this. Now to find the new job and life can get back to our visions of NORMAL! That too will come to pass.
I have had this SU set for several years and each year I drag it out again and think "should I sell it"? I say each time and I'm always glad I did. This year since I have all my neat Nestie's, the set has a brand new look! I'm happy to say I sold this last night and look forward to making lots more!
Well, I gotta go and get back to creation station central and see if I can do anything while Barry is out at a meeting. BTW, my cards and card holder were a big hit on Saturday night. We didn't win any door prizes ourselves but we sat at a table with two wonderful Policemen and their wives and they each won a gift, so that was just as good!
I hope these two cards will put you in the mood for Fall. I wish they would just skip the Fall season and move me to Christmas, but that doesn't seem to be happening! I love everything about Fall, from the colors to the weather, but Christmas, well that's a different story. I love the season, I just can't get "in the mood" for making holiday cards yet. I keep telling myself "self, you need to be making Christmas cards". Self has not been listening!! Do you have this problem or are all your holiday things done and ready to go out? I keep telling myself that I feel sorry for people like that. You know, those that don't know the true joy of STRESS!! Maybe one of these years I'll be like that too!
Last night we had a wonderful time at the Lion's anniversary party. It's great to see old friends and enjoy looking back at what the club has done and see so much more that the club will be. We had a great speaker and good food. I didn't win a door prize but Barry did get an award from the International President. That's much better then any door prize I could win!
I made these two cards yesterday using a Lizzie Anne set of stamps and a new Stampin Up set along with some new SU paper from the mini catty.
Well, I'm off to go and try and do something, again!! Have a wonderful Sunday!
